A Huge Thank You To All Réunion nationale 2011 participants!

The 32nd edition of Société GRICS Réunion nationale held on November 23, 24 and 25, 2011 at the Montréal Hyatt  Hotel, brought together over 400 participants; this represents a 23 % increase over 2010.

Société GRICS would like to warmly thank all participants, speakers and sponsors, who made this event an outstanding success.

A short satisfaction survey was sent to all participants to the 2011 Réunion nationale. Their feedback will enable us to improve future editions of the event.

Next GGT Meeting Set for February 23, 2012 in Québec City

Mark your calendar for the first GGT (Groupe des gestionnaires des technologies) meeting of 2012, which will be held in Quebec City on February 23.

The preliminary agenda, registration form and hotel information will be made available in January.

Holiday Season Schedule

During the holidays, our offices will be closed from December 23, 2011 to January 3, 2012 inclusive. We will be back as of January 4, 2012.

Provincial Tour of President and CEO

On December 5, Daniel Besner, president and CEO of Société GRICS, began a provincial tour of the different regions of Québec. These regional visits with clients will continue until June 2012.

The meetings will give Mr. Besner the opportunity to provide an overview of the changes taking place within Société GRICS, to discuss with clients the reformulation of our administrative applications and to address specific topics of interest to clients in each region.

The logistics of these meetings are being handled by directors-general or assistant directors-general in each region.

User Satisfaction Surveys - Results Updated on the Bulletin Board

As you know, starting last February, Société GRICS sent a series of satisfaction surveys to its products users.

The schedule of future surveys was updated and survey results on HELIOS were added.  All results are available on the Société GRICS bulletin board - check them out today!

LUMIX FP-FGA - Predefined Dashboards in Development

 

With LUMIX FP-FGA the Vocational Training and Adult Education sectors now have access to absence, achievement and attendance indicators.  This tool makes it easier to monitor data regarding compliance with the MELS board Partnership Agreements and schools/centres Educational Success Agreements. To date over twenty school boards have implemented LUMIX FP-FGA, and several more are on the verge of doing so.

To meet the needs of all LUMIX FP-FGA users, predefined dashboards are currently being developed by Société GRICS.  These templates will facilitate decision-making; in striking visual formats they allow users to see the results their students have achieved measured against the objectives of the Partnership agreement and other national indicators. In this way, shool and board administrators can effectively monitor student performance and attendance in the Vocational Training and Adult Education sectors.

The New HELIOS - Energy Management in Web mode

The development of the new HELIOS running in Web mode is underway, with the first rollout planned for summer 2012

In addition to making available such functionalities as the automatic download of invoices from Hydro-Québec and Gaz Métro, the new Web mode HELIOS offers the following benefits :

  • Simplified invoice validation and payment, with fewer steps showing on a single screen.

  • Interactive dashboards for continuous monitoring of energy management indicators.

  • Automated alarm signals sent via email, smart phones and tablet computers.

Société GRICS Administrative Suite of Software : The Reinvention is Underway

Phase one of the reinvention of the company's administrative suite of software - based on Microsoft Dynamics AX platform - is underway, with priority given to the Financial section of the suite.

Société GRICS considers it essential to consult its clients while carrying out these software renovations.  So as part of this first phase the company has established two committees whose role will be to monitor developments and ensure that the changes made will meet the needs of the educational community.

The Advisory Committee - Finance (PCC-Finance) consists of school board Directors of Financial Services. The mandate of this committee is to advise Société GRICS concerning :

  • choosing an appropriate implementation strategy and validation process.

  • establishing priorities concerning the implementation of software functions.

  • setting guidelines regarding best practices and work methods.

  • identifying change management strategies.

The Users Committee (CUP - Finance) focuses on the application from an operational perspective.  This committee is mandated to :

  • advise on the daily operations of the application.

  • make sure the guidelines set by the CCP are implemented.

  • validate application functionalities as they come on stream.
